Hello 24six9 fam!

There might be a slight chill in the air this November, but that hasn’t affected the heat we’re bringing with 24six9, as is evident in this busy, busy month. We did so much, met so many amazing people and spread the message of the 24six9 movement far and wide throughout November. As a not-for-profit community, we promise to continue our commitment to giving back, through mutual benefit, collaboration and absolute inclusivity. For now, here’s a short recap for what we achieved in November.

24six9 x BIBAN 2024

We kicked off strong, with 24six9 repping the Dubai Chapter at BIBAN in Riyadh between November 5th to 9th. We took along 10 outstanding startups with us to exhibit, all with their own kiosks to represent their businesses. It was a thrill to be able to collaborate with Kitchenara, Trade Social, Humd, AHOY Motion Stack, Flatgigs, EpicMetry, Trouve Labs as and HeadStart. It was a lively 3 days, and we met some of the most incredible members of the startup and investment ecosystem in Riyadh. Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

24six9 at AfriLabs 2024

Riyadh was just one stop for the 24six9 team. Next, we headed over to Cape Town, South Africa for AfriLabs 2024, an incredible innovation event held at Cape Town International Convention Centre. The theme for the event was “Uniting Innovation” perfectly aligning with 24six9’s drive to innovate with startup hubs around the world. We got to witness just how vibrant the digital landscape is in Africa, especially with how mission-driven each project was. It was a pleasure to be part of Afrilabs 2024, and suffice it to say we came back thoroughly impressed and with invaluable lessons.

Speed Networking, 24six9 Style!

On November 8th, we held another edition of Speed Networking at In5 Tech, which was as lively as ever. We got to welcome so many new additions to the community, and as is customary with Speed Networking, kept the activity moving with swift new connections made, left, right and center. Speed Networking is always interesting to witness, with everyone embracing the openness of such a networking activity. We saw many-a-member leave their introversion at the door, which we LOVE to see.

Quick Thinkers at Innovation Showdown

Following the pattern of inclusivity and a platform to shout out your startups, we held Innovation Showdown, a brand new twist on coming up with kickass startup ideas. Participants were split into groups of 5 and told to develop a purpose-driven brand, a GTM strategy and a pitch to act out its benefits and USP’s. We consider it a great opportunity to practice thinking on your feet, especially when it comes to a creating a fun, creative pitch. Everyone had a blast with this one, and the winning group were then given a chance to be featured on 24six9 channels online. Look out for these on our Instagram and LinkedIn!

Choosing Good Quests with Trae Stephens//24six9 x Huntr App

On November 22nd, we had the privilege of hosting a collaboration with HUNTR (Techstars New York), for a Fireside Chat with Trae Stephens and Christian Garrett. Trae Stephens is the co-founder and Executive chairman of Anduril Industries, and has been connected to industry giants like Facebook, SpaceX, Open AI, Stripe, Palantir, Spotify and AirBnb. He led us through an incredible talk on “Choosing Good Quests”, moderated by Christian who is a Partner on the investment team at 137 Ventures. It was a full house and suffice it to say, it was a lovely November evening, with invaluable lessons to be learnt and opportunities to connect with proven leaders. Thanks to everyone that attended!

24six9 Signature Meetup – Idea Lab

We took it back to 24six9 basics on November 29th, with another edition of Idea Lab. It was a bit of a throwback moment with some of our 24six9 veterans coming back to brainstorm their new and improved ideas, which was a blast. Thanks to everyone that registered and participated in our community brainstorming sessions, next Idea Lab session upcoming in December!

This month has been wildly busy, with so many events happening across the region at the same time. As we approach the long weekend, we’re gearing up to dive into December feeling refreshed, reenergized, and eager to wrap up the year in style—complete with festive celebrations and exciting activities!
