Hello 24six9 fam!

It’s wild to think September has already come and gone, with so much happening. We welcomes so many new people to the 24six9 community this month, and made new connections at the 24six9 Riyaadh chapter. It’s been a great month, with everyone having made their way back to Dubai after the summer. Let’s take a gander at everything we did this month.

HIGHLIGHTS

Adel Hameed shows us how to skill up

The first meet-up of the month was help on September 6th, where we welcomes Adel Hameed to the stage. As the author of “Skill Up As You Scale Up”, Adel’s insights were incredibly useful for everyone in the 24six9 community. He shared highly insightful frameworks from his book, strategies for navigating the startup ecosystem, and innovative ways to scale up businesses. It was such a pleasure hosting him, especially because he generously gave away 5 signed copies of his book through a draw! We had a blast with you Adel, hope to see you soon!

Introducing Startup Springboard

The following Friday was an intense one, where we introduced Startup Springboard. 24six9 community members registered to pitch in front of a panel of judges, investors and mentors and 5 lucky pitchers were chosen to have their pitches showcased on funding platforms through Jamil Shinawi. Everyone brought their A-game for this one, and it was so exciting to see the electric atmosphere throughout. We can’t wait to host another edition of Startup Springboard, watch this space for more info soon.

The Return of Pitch Roast Fridays

We went back to our roots on September 20th, with another good old fashioned edition of Pitch Roast nights. So many incredible people came forth and shared their ideas with us, and got their fair share of feedback and lighthearted ribbing. We’re always so amazed at the community and the courage they exhibit, seeing their passion dissected in front of a crowd. But it’s always a good time, and no one leaves without getting some astonishing insights into their industries.

24six9 Riyaadh Chapter x TNBT Podcast

Next, we set up an incredible meet-up on September 25th where we had industry leaders Waleed A. Alballaa, HASAN JABARTI, Javier Sanchez-Marco and Anamaria Meshkurti take centre-stage. The collab was between the 24six9 Community Podcast “The Next Big Thing” and 24six9 Riyaadh, and we had an amazing turnout. The speakers dove into what the region is facing re: innovative breakthroughs, followed by a riveting Q&A. We’re so proud of where the 24six9 community is headed, much thanks to Umair Khalid عمير خالد and Adel Mazi for their support throughout!

Chill vibes with Casual Fridays

The last meet-up of the month was a return to our roots, with Casual Fridays on September 27th. The unofficial, uninhibited networking session was open for all, and we hope you made the most of it! On to bigger and better things with October!
